Folds of Honor Kansas City, with the support of title sponsors Kansas City Chiefs and the Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (GEHA), celebrated a successful 10th anniversary gala on November 13, 2021. Bringing together military families, veterans, scholarship recipients, and members of the community to celebrate and to invest in the continuation of the Folds of Honor mission. The gala was emceed by local KMBC9 News anchor, Rob Hughes, who also serves as an Infantry Officer in the Kansas Army National Guard. An inspiring line-up of guest speakers included World Golf Hall of Fame member Corporal Matthew Bradford, honorary chair of the event Tom Watson, and the founder and CEO of Folds of Honor Lt. Col. Dan Rooney.
This year’s Folds of Honor Gala included a silent auction, a live auction led by local auctioneer Trisha Brauer of Taking Bids Fundraising, and a flag folding ceremony performed by the Leavenworth High School Junior ROTC. It raised over $350,000 for educational scholarships that will be awarded to the families of fallen or disabled U.S. military personnel who were injured or lost their lives while serving their country.
