This Weekend in Kansas City: July 7-10

Looking to hit the town this weekend, but not sure what to do? We have some ideas.

Brookside Sidewalk Sale & Shred July 7-9

Brookside’s annual sidewalk sale offers three days of discounts, activities, and special merchandise at participating stores throughout the historic Brookside shops. Participating merchants will stretch from Wornall to Main Street and from 62nd Terrace to Meyer Boulevard. The Brookside Business Association and CID are also hosting a free paper-shredding event in the lot behind Jalapeno’s on Saturday.

Feastival: A Forks & Corks Pop-Up July 8-9

Kansas City’s top chefs will be whipping up incredibly tasty meals at Union Station. A five-course dinner will be served on Friday night, there will be a brunch on Saturday with samples from the city’s hottest brunch spots, and a giant volunteer event where you can pack bags for the food insecure. Feastival supports Harvesters, and 100% of proceeds from the event help the organization’s fight to end hunger in the community.

Party Arty: Vitality and Vice July 9

Party Arty is back in 2022 for a spectacular night inspired by the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s upcoming exhibition American Art Deco: Designing for the People, 1918-1939. The museum will be transformed into a glamorous speakeasy with vibrant jazz, food, drinks, and entertainment at the signature Young Friends of Art fundraiser. Tickets start at $125 and include multi-sensory performances, early access to the exhibition, specialty cocktails, and more.

Blip’s Summer Open House July 9

Kick off summer at the West Bottoms coffee shop with an evening of bikes, coffee, food, and music. Food trucks will include Betty Rae’s and American Fusion, local vendors—End City Studios, Moon Rider, Bogert Photography, and G.I.F.T.—will be popping up, and live music will be performed by Wade D. Brown.

Dino and Dragon Stroll July 9-10

The North American Dino and Dragon Tour is stopping by the Kansas City Convention Center with lifelike and life-sized dinosaurs and dragons. The creatures are brought to life with advanced animatronics and sound technology for an event the whole family can enjoy. Kids will be able to participate in story time, crafts, themed rides, and more.
