Be Bold
In interior designer Sara Noble’s downtown living room, lipstick-red ruffle-edged curtains frame a magnificent view of the Midland Theatre loggia. As with many designers, she’s since moved on to her next home/project, but this one still resonates.
Mix it Up
It takes a sure hand to mix styles and eras, and interior designer Will Brown did it with aplomb in his stately brick duplex south of the Plaza. Midcentury-modern chairs and coffee table are layered on a contemporary rug, while art from several decades plays well together on a gallery wall.
Art Forward
Several important paintings pop against the deep blue hues that dominate in the living room of Kurt Knapstein’s Brookside Tudor. Hunt Slonem’s rabbit painting and a Katherine Glover piece above the mantel play off the gold accents throughout. Knapstein has since sold this house and moved to a contemporary condo on the Plaza. We’ll look forward to his next inspiration.
