This Weekend in Kansas City: October 25-27

It’s going to be a spooky weekend, KC, and there’s no way around it. Only through it. Here’s what’s going on this pre-Halloween weekend.

If you’re looking for a haunted house, we listed Kansas City’s top five. If we had to pick one? The immersive carnival experience at EXILED: Crooked Rose Woods.

We’ll start with something less spooky, but plenty tasty. Vine Street Brewing Co. is throwing a two-day festival

It starts Friday night with a costume contest and a performance by 20-piece hip-hop band Brass & Boujee. The next day is Hip-Hops Hooray, a craft beer festival with brews from over 25 breweries. Take in live hip-hop performances while you sample the beers.

If you’re a Hocus Pocus fan, this is your weekend. The 1993 fantasy comedy hits the Helzberg screen at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts three times this weekend—at 8 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Kansas City Symphony, guest conducted by Jacob Joyce, will perform every note of the score.
