Last-Minute Holiday Looks

Some folks dally, so their holiday décor may be last minute, but it doesn’t have to look like it. Even better if it can last long past December. Here are some creative ideas to inspire you.

In the Kitchen

A lineup of colorful, seasonal potted plants feels special and adds a touch of winter cheer. Lorraine and Leigh Elmore’s kitchen “winter garden” is just the thing to brighten up dreary days.

In the Foyer

An arrangement like this one from The Little Flower Shop can greet unexpected guests and say “welcome in” with both scent and beauty, without the mess. Fresh evergreens provide the fragrance, while red winterberry provides long-lasting brilliant color.

In the Sunroom

Potted amaryllis is long-lasting and mixes well with fresh evergreens tumbling out of blue-and-white pots, such as in this sunroom. “The home has a garden feel,” says designer Heather Coones of Botanica Flower Studios, “so we included lots of florals and natural décor with a winter and holiday vibe, but not overtly Christmas.”
