Reclamation Meridian

Friday night, the Charlotte Street Foundation will host a duet of film and live music. The film: Reclamation Meridian, a new documentary about Flint Hills Counterpoint’s land reclamation project in Marion County, Kansas; the music, a live score performed by a string quartet. It’s free to attend, as is the post-show discussion of the project.
Parade at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

This weekend brings the final showings of Parade at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The musical, which follows Jewish newlyweds navigating a horrifying accusation in 1913, has been heaped in praise and awards since its 2023 revival. Tickets start at $61, depending on the date and section.
Party Arty: Opulence & Intrigue
Feb. 1
On Saturday night, mix fashion from the Regency era (read: Bridgerton) and the present day, enjoy live music and libations, and party until midnight in support of art education at the Nelson.
Party Arty: Opulence & Intrigue is one of Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s signature fundraisers. Tickets are $140 for museum members and $170 for non-members.
Brews & Bonsai at Border Brewing Co.
Feb. 2
Wind down on Sunday afternoon with Brews & Bonsai at Border Brewing Co. BlackRoot Farms Bonsai & Nursery will be at the brewery to teach bonsai tree care, help you create one of your own (which will bring pleasure long past the afternoon), and share good beer.
Tickets are $75 (it is a lasting pleasure, remember) and $25 for each additional guest. They include your first drink, a bonsai tree, and the pot it’ll live in.
