The Country Club Plaza just announced their decision to cancel “the traditional aspects of this year’s Plaza Art Fair out of concern for the safety of participants and the community,” the group says in an email statement. Instead, the “beloved celebration of art and culture will be reimagined for audiences this year.”
“This was naturally a very difficult decision that we did not come to lightly, but public safety must always be our top priority,” says Kasey Vena, general manager of Country Club Plaza. “We are in the process of reimagining this year’s event so that we may recognize the talented artists selected and celebrate art, food, and music in new ways, including through our various digital platforms.”
The Plaza will share information about the reimagined event in coming weeks through public announcements, on PlazaArtFair.com and through the district’s social channels.
