Native New Yorker Colin Kane has been laying the comedy smackdown on packed houses since 2002. Now Kane is bringing his acidic brand of humor to the metro this weekend with an appearance at The Comedy Club of Kansas City.
We chatted up the brilliantly acerbic funnyman ahead of his performance to get the scoop on his upcoming visit to Kansas City.
Good to be back on the road? How was your 2020?
“2020 was a year of darkness for millions and it’s time to brighten it up. Excited to be coming back to KC. Dustin is one of the nicest club owners in the country.”
Rumor has it you’ve got quite the following in KC—why is that?
“Because I keep it real and KC knows real. Next question.”
Who do you find funny?
“Don Rickles—ruthless and charismatic.”
I’ve seen you get some huge laughs riffing with the audience. Think you could mock the audience and make an entire set out of it?
“Without a doubt, I’ve done it numerous times. It makes me feel alive.”
Tell me something good about your upcoming 2021. What’s on your radar?
“I’m going to enjoy what I have—while I go after what I want.”
