Shatto Milk Company’s Red Velvet Milk hit Kansas City shelves on Monday.

The Clinton County dairy, known for its inventive flavors, previously only released this Chiefs-red milk around Super Bowl time—but this season feels special.

“We just started out supporting our local team, and it was so much fun,” says owner Barb Shatto. “We’ve released it four or five times. [This season], it’s all about a three-peat.”

The milk is in bottles from previous seasons. For instance, some say “Niners Tears,” others “Eagles Tears,” and others “Underdogs.”

Our unsolicited review: If you haven’t tried it, you should. Ideally while watching a Chiefs game. We’re surely not the first to say this, but it’s like melted red velvet ice cream. And while the flavor is undoubtedly there, it’s not too strong. It’s like a good handshake carrying a message from milk: “Hey, you deserve this.”

According to Shatto, you can find it anywhere that shelves Shatto Milk—while supplies last, since when they’re gone, they’re gone. The dairy’s store locator lists these stores in the Kansas City area:

  • Cosentino’s
  • Hen House Market
  • Heirloom Bakery and Hearth
  • Hy-Vee
  • McClain’s Bakery
  • Price Chopper
  • Sprouts
  • Sun Fresh Market
  • Whole Foods

You’ll also be able to find it at Shatto’s country store in Osborne, Missouri, as well as select stores in Warrensburg, Columbia, and Iowa.
