For the past 15 years, food writer Jenny Vergara has been at the forefront of documenting Kansas City’s cuisine scene. Beginning with the launch of her blog, The Making of a Foodie, to writing for Tastebud magazine and most recently Feast magazine, she’s been reporting on every eatery, bar, and bistro, from the most modest café to the hottest new restaurant in town.
We are thrilled to welcome Jenny to our team as our dedicated food columnist, beginning with her feature in our July issue. Who better to reveal ten innovators in the industry?
“Writing for a city magazine feels like a bigger step onto a bigger stage somehow,” Jenny says, “and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to write stories that speak to both the heart of the people who make the good food and drinks and the soul of our food scene. I am also here to try to help explain why things are the way they are in the industry, and question if they can and should change. When we gather together over a meal with friends or family it is a sacred act, the act of building relationships and community. We need places where we can do that, and I have some good ones to recommend to you.”
