Vignettes Bar, a concept cocktail bar in North Kansas City, has tackled some timely pop culture themes in the past months. Most recently, they transformed their space into a hot-pink Malibu Dream to celebrate the Barbie craze following the release of Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster masterpiece. Next to take the stage is an old cartoon classic, SpongeBob SquarePants.Â
For one month only, Vignettes will transform into a generation’s favorite underwater city—Bikini Bottom (or is it Martini Bottom?), with a bar they’re calling SpongeBar. Drink names include The Pineapple Under the Sea, Grandma’s Cookies, and the Magic Conch. Also included is a patty-launching machine, so we’ll finally get a taste of the infamous Krabby Patty.Â
Those not in on the inside jokes can still have fun with Vignette’s typical colorful decorations and theme nights, including Seaside Sunday Karaoke, Krusty Comedy Tuesday, Trivia Wednesday, Music Bingo Thursday, and live music on Fridays and Saturdays. While some jokes may go over some heads, the iconic childhood show is fun for everyone.Â
All ages on Sunday through Thursday, but 21+ on Friday and Saturday, reserve a spot at this nostalgic treasure August 18 until September 16.
