If you’re already dreading slaving over a hot stove for Thanksgiving, well, we’ve got the perfect impulse purchase for you!
Crazy Good Eats in Olathe will be smoking their famous turkeys once again this Thanksgiving. “Demand keeps increasing earlier every year with people asking us to prepare turkeys for their Thanksgiving feasts,” says owner Bruce Lemay.
It’s quite a laborious process says Lemay—brining, rubbing, smoking, repeat. But fortunately, their small, but mighty pit-master team does all the heavy lifting for you. All you have to do is enjoy your bird with family and friends. But get your orders in early, please—they only do a limited number each year. ($4.99 per pound and up.)
Of course, we wanted to know if Lemay and his crew are turkey connoisseurs given all the hard work they put in beforehand. “These turkeys are so good it doesn’t matter that we’re around them all the time,” he says. “But all the fixins’? They’re a must—sweet potato casserole, Brussels sprouts with bacon, cornbread and jalapeno sausage stuffing, lots of gravy, and of course, pecan pie.” And yes, Crazy Good Eats has Thanksgiving packages that include all of the above!
