While there seems to be a fried chicken joint on every other block these days, we could still use more, right? Kansas City, we’re in luck—and the newest chicken restaurant to come to town plans to bring the heat.
Founded as a pop-up restaurant in California in 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken now has about 40 locations across the country—and the Nashville Hot Chicken style restaurant plans to come to Kansas City.
Specializing in hot chicken tenders and sliders, with spice levels ranging from “No Spice” to “Reaper,” the restaurant chain plans to open ten locations in the Kansas City area over the next five years.
So, when exactly is this happening? As of yet, that’s still under wraps. The chicken restaurant has entered into a franchise agreement with brothers Dave, Curt, Mike, and Gary Staab who own and operate 67 Pizza Hut and 12 Wendy’s locations. The brothers are looking to open the restaurants in 2,000- to 3,000-square-feet endcaps and freestanding locations.
