18th Annual Urban Kids Fishing Derby

Urban American Outdoors TV (UAOTV) and SODAS Life Inc. 501c3 will host the 18th Annual Urban Kids Fishing Derby KCMO. The free Saturday fishing excursion will be held at Spring Valley Park Pond right off 27th Woodland.

Partnering host this year includes Gates Bar-BQ, I AM Entertainment Magazine, F.A.C.T.S Tutoring Services, Trout Unlimited, US Forest Service and Tao Tao. The Kid’s Derby is free for youngsters between the ages of 4 to 16 and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All registered participants must bring their own rods, reels, bait, bucket and or stringer.

For the biggest fish, there will be a $100 prize. Parts of the derby will be filmed for an upcoming segment on Urban American Outdoors TV with host Wayne Hubbard.

UAOTV airs weekly on KMCI on Saturday morning at 4:30 a.m. and offers sports enthusiast’s a chance to view outdoors from a different perspective. Wayne Hubbard has for the past 20 plus years been sharing his outdoors adventures, conservation tips, green ideas, wildlife information, and STEAM education, and has mentored over 100,000 youth across the US.
