Independence Square Lighting
November 18, 2022 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CST
Bring your family and enjoy Square Lighting on the historic Independence Square Friday, November 18 at 6 p.m under the giant movie marquee at the Pharaoh Cinema 4 114 West Maple Street, Independence, MO 64050.
This annual holiday event is made possible by the Independence Square Association with Santa visits sponsored by the City of Independence. Over one mile of holiday lights will light up the night as the holiday season is welcomed in. Santa will arrive by mule-drawn sleigh from Pioneer Trails Adventures and the sounds of Christmas will fill the air as the William Chrisman High School Concert Choir and Studio 3V dancers help us ring in the season. Bring a toy or make a monetary donation for Community Services League Christmas Store.
The festivities begin in front of the Pharaoh Cinema on Maple Ave and Santa will greet kids after helping turn on the lights. Santa will then make his way to the Independence Uptown Market for visits and children will be able to make a craft and enjoy a snack. Mule-drawn sleigh rides around the Square will be available. Many of your favorite restaurants will be open so plan to stay for dinner and to take a peek at the windows of Square merchants as they prepare for Living Windows on December 2.
