Kansas City Symphony Presents ‘The Planets’

Join your Kansas City Symphony for a concert that’s out of this world! Guest conductor Teddy Abrams is known for his unquenchable enthusiasm and imaginative approach to classical music. He’ll bring that zest to Gustav Holst’s The Planets, an orchestral tour de force. Stargazers can revel in Caroline Shaw’s expansive piece, The Observatory. Inspired by a visit to Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, Shaw juxtaposes chaos and clarity in this work, using as she describes it, “very large chords and some very large spaces.” The concert also features the Women of the KC Symphony Chorus and violinist Jennifer Koh.
