Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
November 25, 2022 @ 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM CST
The 100-foot-tall Mayor’s Christmas Tree, one of the nation’s tallest, is the centerpiece for an illuminating holiday celebration at Crown Center. This year marks the 50th year that the Mayor’s Christmas Tree has been presented by Crown Center on the Square.
Kansas City’s Mayor and a celebrity guest will flip the switch to light the tree. The tree is a symbol of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund, which is dedicated to assisting Kansas City people in need during the holidays.
The lighting event begins at 5:30 p.m. with music and will include a new stage program, as well as a fireworks display.
FREE admission.

The holiday lights at Crown Center will remain on through Jan. 2. After the holidays, the wood from the Mayor’s Christmas Tree is made into commemorative ornaments, which are sold the following year to benefit the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund. Ornaments can be purchased at Crown Center Customer Service. Learn more: https://www.crowncenter.com/
