On Saturday, August 24, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art will continue the museum’s twenty-fifth anniversary celebration with our fifth annual FREE Summer Block Party, taking place from 6:00–10:30 p.m. throughout the Museum grounds.
Explore Lexicon: The Language of Gesture in 25 Years at Kemper Museum and other works from the Museum’s Permanent Collection featured across four galleries; check out the brand new Atrium Project installation by Angel Otero; experience Lowriders of Kansas City––a special addition to this year’s event; dance to the epic sound of Hi-Lux; enjoy art-making activities for visitors of all ages; stop by the Museum Shop for another installment of “Pop Up at the Museum Shop: Block Party Edition” where visitors can purchase locally-made jewelry, ceramics, paper goods, and more; visit the KCAI Ceramics Department for live demonstrations; and at sundown (approximately 8:30 p.m.) find a spot on the Museum Grounds for this year’s outdoor film screening: the 2017 Disney/Pixar hit, Coco.
