Kemper Museum’s Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Gala

The 2019 Kemper Gala will be held Saturday, October 12, with the out-of-this-world theme, Intergalactic Voyage: A Blast From Futures Past.

Celebrating the Museum’s silver anniversary, this year’s theme is inspired by space, the future as it was imagined in the 1990s, and the spirit of the voyage –– giving nod to the 2019 Kemper Museum exhibition of works by artist Hew Locke, as well as to the progress and growth that has occurred over Kemper Museum’s twenty-five years. What a journey! Coupled with the obsession for the world unknown held throughout ‘90s culture in the years building up to Y2K, join us to reimagine how we saw the future of music, art, and fashion — another not-to-miss affair!

Why Support Kemper Gala?

Your support ensures that Kansas City and the wider community have access to world-class exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, education programs for children and learners of all ages, school tours and transportation cost reimbursement, opportunities to engage with artists, and more. As always, there is no admission charge to experience Kemper Museum, one of Kansas City’s only entirely free cultural institutions. We could not do it without you.

In a time when two-thirds of public school teachers believe that arts are being crowded out of the school day, Kemper Museum has designed free programs to help supplement school programs. According to the Americans for the Arts’ Facts & Figures, Students with high arts participation and low socio-economic status are five times more likely to graduate from high school than their peers.
