Kick off your holiday season with a festive walk through the lights at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Enjoy illuminated garden paths, gnome and fairy villages, live music, and photos with Santa, perfect for a festive family night.
Choose from one of three unique experiences:
Traditional Luminary Walk: Stroll along illuminated pathways to discover the magical Gnome and Fairy Villages, candlelit Marder Garden, and vibrant Children’s Garden, with musical performances throughout. The gardens glow with color, while candle-lit woodland walkways create a serene atmosphere. Trees, buildings, and bridges shimmer with thousands of lights. Photos with Santa are available from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m., and the trains run in the Train Garden until 8:45 p.m. Enjoy complimentary hot cider in the Children’s Discovery Garden.
Adults-Only Candlelight Stroll (18+): Experience the serenity of the Arboretum after dark. Enjoy the peaceful glow of candles through the woods, dazzling light displays, live music, and enchanting gnome houses—all without the kids. Perfect for a quiet date night or a relaxed evening with friends, this version offers a more tranquil alternative to the family-friendly Friday and Saturday Luminary Walk experience. Children under 18 are not admitted.
Electric Glow: Gather your family and friends for a peaceful stroll through the electric gardens during this low-key version of the Luminary Walk. With no Santa, candlelit woods, musicians, cider, or trains—and no crowds—it’s the perfect night to explore the glowing gardens and admire the intricate gnome and fairy houses. Capacity is significantly limited for a more relaxed experience.
