KC Oktoberfest – October 1- 2
Modeled after the Munich Oktoberfest in Germany, KC Oktoberfest is a two-day festival celebrating authentic German-style beer, food, and entertainment at Crown Center in the heart of downtown Kansas City. It’s the largest traditional Oktoberfest in Kansas City. All beer served is fresh, authentic German-style beer brewed by KC Bier Co. using traditional German recipes and brewing processes.
Holiday Mart – September 30 – October 3
The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri’s annual fundraiser shopping event returns to the Kansas City Convention Center (Bartle Hall) continuing its tradition of great shopping to benefit organizations around the community. Holiday Mart 2021 features a wide variety of local and national specialty retailers offering a unique, and often exclusive, selection of fashion and accessories, home décor, children’s clothing and gifts, beauty products, specialty food and drink items, and more.
Scarecrow Festival – October 2
Kick off fall at the annual Scarecrow Festival, a children’s-focused fall crafting event hosted in downtown Shawnee in the parking lot at City Hall. Children are able to decorate pumpkins and complete other fall-related crafts. Parents can also enjoy the Farmers Market and seasonal displays. For any chefs out there, showcase your skills by participating in the baking contest, which includes categories for pumpkin pie, fruit pie, and pumpkin bread. Winners in each category will receive a cash prize.
Weston Applefest Celebration – October 2 – October 3
Plan a day trip to Weston for the 33rd Annual Applefest, kicking off with a parade down Main Street at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The fest includes crafts and artisans, food and drinks, kid’s games, apple dumplings, entertainment and outdoor fun!
Cocktails for CASA: A Night of Hope – October 2
Cocktails for CASA—A Night of Hope is Jackson County CASA’s evening fundraiser. Guests will enjoy exceptional food and drink along with silent and live auction items, all in the stylish Pennway Place event space at Studio Dan Meiners. The event funds CASA’s work so that children who have experienced abuse and neglect will have a trained CASA volunteer to help ensure they will grow up in a safe and permanent home.
