The 90th Annual Plaza Art Fair – September 24-26
The Plaza Art Fair encompasses nine city blocks and features 240 artists. It’s a top-ranked, national art event with three live music stages and over 20 featured restaurant booths.The art fair continues to be a weekend of people simply celebrating art and each other, as well as Kansas City’s unofficial welcome to the fall season.
Louisburg Cider Mill’s 43rd Annual Ciderfest – September 25-26
The Annual Ciderfest kicks off this Saturday and continues on Sunday and the following weekend, October 2nd and October 3rd. Ciderfest activities begin with the Louisburg Lions Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. There will be live music, cider and donut making, pony rides and inflatable slides. Ciderfest also features craft booths, gifts & collectible vendors, and multiple food and BBQ vendors. There is no admission or parking fee to attend Ciderfest. Hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Tacos and Tequila Festival – September 25
Head out to the newly remodeled Legends Field to enjoy a night out kickin’ it with your favorite throwback artists, headlined by Ludacris, while chowing down on local chef-inspired tacos. Wash those tacos down with one of 40 different flavors of craft margaritas or a tequila tasting flight. Throughout the day, there will be Lucha Libre wrestling, exotic cars, and a salsa and hot sauce competition. Doors open an 3 p.m. Leave the kids at home, this event is strictly 21+.
Puppets a Glow-Go – September 24-25
Join the StoneLion Puppet Theatre for Puppets a Glow-Go, a free drive-through or walk-through parade in front of the National WW1 Museum and Memorial, 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Filled with giant illuminated puppets, aerialists, and glow performers, it’s a unique art experience for the whole family.
AMERI’KANA Block Party – September 25
In collaboration with Making Movies, Art as Mentorship will be taking over the parking lot of Grinders KC from Noon-5 p.m. this Saturday for the first annual AMERI’KANA Block Party. This event will be free to the public and feature a show from local and youth talent as well as a line-up of all-star international musicians. The block party will include a Skate Club presentation, Strawberry Swing makers and artists, and food trucks.
