What are your plans this weekend? We’ve got a roundup to get you out and about with family, friends, or solo.
Panic Fest April 4 – 10
It’s scary good! Founded in 2013, this award-winning festival of horror, thriller and sci-fi films is one of the top genre festivals in the world. The Screenland Theater in North Kansas City is the center of the action. From live events to feature films to shorts, there’s much to see and do. Click here for tickets and more information.
Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical April 5 – 28
Lucky Kansas City is one of the first cities in the US to experience Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical at the Black Box for a limited engagement. If you loved the Netflix series, you’ll love the musical in all its campy 1980s glory. Audience members are encouraged to dress in the 1980s best or as one of their favorite characters, but it’s certainly not required. Tickets are available here.
Eat Local & Organic Expo April 6 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Hosted by KC Healthy Kids, this free, family-friendly farmers market is open to the public, but you can click here to RSVP and to be automatically entered for a chance to score fantastic local food prizes. The event at Johnson County Community College will feature more than 30 local farmers, connecting the community to local food and the people who grow it. Sign up for weekly farm shares, buy transplants for your garden, and shop the freshest early-spring produce for your table.
