Super Bowl weekend awaits, Kansas City. We know you have plans for Sunday (and we have you covered if you’re looking for Chiefs treats, Chiefs gear, and free Super Bowl watch parties). Now, let’s zoom out a bit and help you craft a well-rounded weekend.
Störling Dance Theater Presents Underground
Feb. 7
Underground, a music-and-dance performance chronicling the history of the Underground Railroad, has been a Kansas City constant for 18 years. It’s back at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts on Friday night at 7:30, and tickets start at $38.
KC Bier Co’s 11th Anniversary Party + Bier Festival
Feb. 8
On Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., KC Bier Co celebrates its 11th anniversary in the only way it can. Its 11th Anniversary Party + Bier Festival is $38 to enter, and you’ll get unlimited samples of beer and wine in a souvenir tasting glass. They’ll be selling brats and pretzels, too. Just check the weather and dress appropriately, since it’s in the parking lot.
Chiefs FanZone
Feb. 8
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., baby goats wearing Chiefs gear will be hanging out at Chiefs FanZone at Union Station. You can hold them.
We shouldn’t need to say more, but during that time period, there will also be face painting, a football-throwing challenge, a replica Lombardi Trophy to touch, and Kona Ice to eat. The Fan Zone Shopping Village will stay open until 6 p.m., and Union Station restaurants will offer Chiefs-themed specials until close.
On top of that, there will be photo-op displays—including a giant Patrick Mahomes bobblehead, giant Chiefs letters, and a light tunnel—throughout Grand Hall and Grand Plaza all day.
Verizon FanFest at KC Live!
Feb. 9
Verizon FanFest at KC Live! is the one you see on TV—that mass of Chiefs fans bursting with cheers in front of a giant screen. It’s more than a watch party, though, with pre-game festivities beginning at 11 a.m. DJs will be keeping the energy up in the main area and in venues throughout the KC Live! block.
