You’ve Arrived! Three of Our Favorite Entryways

If you can have a formal entry or foyer, flaunt it. Here are some of our favorites.

Classical Brass

At the Mission Hills home of Beth and Bill Zollars, an iron and brass railing leads to the second floor, while a Cassina console table marries brass and warm wood tones. Details like the brass trim on the wall sconce and the brass European switch plates finish the look.

On the Bright Side

In this Fairway foyer by Trapp and Company designer Daniel Houk, a circa-1900 gilt mirror hangs over a 19th-century mahogany Empire chest. The quiet antiques pop against the peacock-blue hue of the walls.

Artfully Done

Art collectors Deborah and Tom Macon’s contemporary home is defined by a foyer that separates the public and private spaces. The limestone wall carries through from the exterior all the way through the house. Raw steel frames the entrance to the living room. A Chinese sculpture perched on a rosewood plinth is the focal point.
