In August 2021, Micaela Marshall and George Bischoff set off with their realtor, Samantha Salem of ReeceNichols, to find the perfect home in Kansas City. On January 26, House Hunters fans will take that journey with them.
Titled Dreams and Dollar Signs in Kansas City, Wednesday night’s episode will show the engaged couple’s search for the perfect home for their future family. Marshall, a continuous improvement engineer, wants a big house, while Bischoff, a biomedical engineer, is focused on ensuring they are making a good investment.
“Micaela and George have been such a wonderful couple to work with,” Salem says. “They found me on Instagram, and we connected immediately. Their enthusiasm and wit were very endearing and made the process much smoother—especially when it came to the harder times of getting offers rejected and not finding decent homes.”
Marshall and Bischoff are new to Kansas City after Bischoff landed a job in the metro—and the couple is loving all that Kansas City has to offer. They spent the last year living in an apartment near the River Market. But as they look to their future, they want a home in the suburbs where they can grow with their dog, Phillip. (And yes, you’ll see plenty of Phillip on House Hunters.)
Wednesday’s episode follows the young couple as they look at homes in Lee’s Summit, Raytown, Independence, North Kansas City, and Liberty.
“Finding a decent home within their budget that was fitting both of their needs for comfort and cost was the most challenging part of our search,” says Salem. “The market is very competitive with the inventory shortage we are experiencing, so we naturally lost about eight offers on some really nice homes. Not having a wide selection of homes to choose from can be very frustrating for buyers and agents alike.”
Spoiler alert: the couple finds a home in the end. Find out which house Marshall and Bischoff choose when the episode airs on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. on HGTV.
