As everyone searches for warm fuzzies (any warm fuzzies will do!), the time-tested and approved cure for grief remains true: giving. Reaching outside the self sooths the aching soul. Now—more than any other time— demands generosity. To provide is to share hope in uncertain times.
That is the core characteristic defining Camp Quality USA, an outdoor adventure for children living with cancer and their families. Camp Quality USA knows about bringing joy and laughter during challenging life moments.
This Friday, September 11, at 7 p.m., join executive director, Crystal Davison, director of development, Deb Blaylock, and advocates from around the country as they zoom into a Virtual Patio Party for kids with cancer. The Camp Quality USA Virtual Patio Party fundraiser features both a silent and live auction, watch parties, and an opportunity to meet some of the kids. It’s sure to be the digital party of the season as guests celebrate an organization that focuses on what kids with cancer can do.
With year-round programming, Camp Quality USA volunteers and staff are devoted to creating an optimistic environment by emphasizing strength and ability. Though a child is living with cancer, it is her power that she brings with her to camp. It is her full potential that she discovers.
Camp Quality kids will enjoy a rugged, outdoorsy camp experience. Fishing, boating, and ziplining are just some of the escapades they encounter while participating in the summer camps. Siblings are included in the action.
Engaging with the programs helps kids with cancer feel like kids again. They transform into people who stand in their might. They shine, they rock out, they explore. The Virtual Patio Party celebrates Camp Quality USA’s mission to serve kids and families all year at no cost. Those looking for a way to shake the difficulty of this dour period just need to show up.
Light a fire, Zoom in and meet some of the mighty camp kids. Click here to register or text campquality to 243725. Again, there is no cost to register. Invite friends to livestream outdoors on a patio deck where social distancing is encouraged.
