Game on! Great Plains SPCA in Merriam is kicking off their Puppy Pooper Bowl on Sunday, February 7, to raise funds and get ready for the Big Game later that evening. “We’re getting into the Super Bowl spirit here at Great Plains SPCA!” says Tracy Lewandowski, the senior manager for events and programs. “And we’re anticipating Pooper Bowl almost as much as seeing the Chiefs repeat.”
Not familiar? Puppy Pooper Bowl is a game of chance played on a 15-foot by 15-foot “field” consisting of one-foot by one-foot squares. Members of the public are invited to buy squares ahead of time and then on Super Bowl Sunday, Great Plains SPCA will release puppies onto the field at 11 a.m. Naturally, the person who purchased the square where the first puppy poops wins $250. (There are prizes for second and third place also.) The event will be live streamed on Great Plains SPCA’s Facebook page starting that morning at 11:00 a.m.
