You don’t need to tap your heels three times—there is a real Yellow Brick Road tucked away in one of the entrances to Legends Outlets. The shopping experience includes dining and entertainment in an outdoor setting, surrounded by photo-worthy backdrops like the Civic Fountain and The Lawn—even tributes to actual Kansas legends!

To start your day, grab a coffee and take a few “Insta-worthy” snaps at backdrops throughout the shopping center that celebrates 20+ Kansas legends with medallions, sculptures, fountains, murals, and of course – Dorothy’s yellow brick road. 

On a Saturday morning, gather on The Lawn for a summer workout led by certified trainers; alternating weekends feature yoga or circuit-style training. The Lawn also offers shaded seating, a wave wall feature for kids, and weekend yard games to try out. 

Then, it’s on to the retail shops that cater to every age, style preference, and pocketbook. 

Several designer stores offer one-of-a-kind shopping in the Kansas City metro area: Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Polo Ralph Lauren are just a few of the retailers that aren’t available anywhere else in the state.  Check out Coach for handbags and leather goods, Tommy Hilfiger or Banana Republic for classic ready-to-wear, as well as J.Crew Factory and its children’s line, Crewcuts. For athletic gear, you’re spoiled with choices like Nike, Adidas, Puma, and Under Armour. Cheer on your regional sports teams, both professional and college, with apparel and accessories from Rally House.

Break for lunch at any of the casual eateries around Legends Outlets, including Panera, Chipotle, Culver’s, Five Guys, and La Fuente. 

After lunch, nose around Books-a-Million for the latest best-seller, fun knick-knacks, and games.  Shop H&M for trendy, affordable clothing for the family; get a new pair of jeans at the Buckle, Levi’s, or Express. Find just the thing to finish a room at HomeGoods.  

For your three o’clock pick-me-up, stop for some ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery or splurge on delectable chocolates from Rocky Mountain (you can diet another day). Book a Hydrafacial at Sephora, manicure at Beauty Brands, or the perfect men’s haircut at 1 Million Cuts Barber Studio. Looking to copy that Yellowstone vibe? At the end of the night, enjoy the newest blockbuster at AMC Legends 14, or grab some Topsy’s Popcorn and head back to The Lawn for a family-friendly flick like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Jumanji, and The Wedding Planner. Movie Nights also make a great date night, and they’re free every Saturday through October!

Enjoy cocktails and al fresco dining at Yard House or Granite City, and get some game-time in and Dave & Buster’s. The day isn’t complete until you’ve tried VooDoo Wings & Beignets at Jazz: A Louisiana Kitchen or ordered drinks from Yard House to enjoy on The Lawn.
