When you’re looking for activities and events close to home, Park Place in Leawood offers easy, breezy summer fun.

Designed with Barkley Square at the center of it all, Park Place offers ample parking to easily stroll and shop down shady, tree-lined streets. One-of-a-kind boutiques, coffee shops, eateries, and spas provide endless ways to enjoy la dolce vita. Enjoy a bubble tea from Bruú Café, an island-themed treat from Outta the Blue, a decadent chocolate truffle from Panache Chocolatier, or soft serve creations from Ice Cream Bae

Summer events from June through September add even more ways to make the most of every day.

Grand Summer Openings

Aixois. There’s always something new going on at Park Place, and things really heat up this summer. Join café society at Aixois, the beloved French bistro with a new location, scheduled for June. “Park Place is definitely a place where I always wanted to be,” says owner Emmanuel Langlade. “It has a bit more character than other new places.” A native of Aix-en-Provence, Langlade and his wife Megan wanted to open another place where “people can come multiple times a week,” he says.

Mother Clucker!, which started in Parlor downtown, will serve up its signature Nashville-style hot chicken when it opens in July-August. Says co-owner/chef Derrick Foster, who operates the restaurant with his wife, Kylie—they both graduated from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America—Park Place “was the perfect location. A good, family-friendly place and a good opportunity to pair beers with chicken,” Derrick Foster says.

Perspire. Experience the health and wellness benefits of full-spectrum infra-red light therapy at Perspire Sauna Studio when it debuts in July/August. Says franchise co-owner Leena Bhakta, “Get ready to optimize your health and wellness with us! Infrared Sauna provides seven key benefits: detox the body, relax the mind, burn calories, ease pain, enhance immunity, clear skin, and improve sleep. All sessions will include towel service and a cold, eucalyptus-infused towel post-session.”
